Jonathan, what's an object that's made an impact on you over the years?

It’s an OG 1970s edition of Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt’s ‘Oblique Strategy’ deck of cards.
Think of it as a serendipity generator, something to stimulate lateral thinking. It was famously used by Eno and David Bowie on Bowie’s three ‘Berlin Albums.’ Eno still seems to be making them. I think I’ll actually get another set.

Rachel, what's a product you've come across that stuck with you?

There's this important rice cooker in Japan that's made me think differently about design. I traveled to the location where they make them and was so inspired.

The way Bell Books was able to articulate love, for yourself and others. In ‘All About Love’ she provides new ways to think about how we love and even challenges age-old stereotypes.
I revisit this book often to remind myself of the peace I can bring to myself and my community through love.

Thibo, what’s something that changed your thinking? It can be either big or small.

Tumblr, but when it had the old logo. It made me discover so much, so quickly. And in a very organic way. I met people there, and always had 10 windows open at the same time.
The majority of the books I own I bought because I saw pics of them on Tumblr.

Delving into the history books across music, film, art, fashion, and social justice, I unearthed the works of makers, doers, and thinkers. Particularly creatives of colour and from the LGBTQ+ community across the [aforementioned] disciplines whose cultural erasure is all too common.

Thirty years ago Nine Inch Nails released its second album, 'The Downward Spiral.' I was 17, and only two years in America.
That same weekend I saw the video for 'March of the Pigs', the album's first single. It was then that I understood that all the arena rock I was listening to before was fake music; this was the real deal.

I read 'Stolen Focus' and it changed my life for three months before I reverted back to stereotypical screen-addicted behaviour.
If I’m honest, I don’t dare get a Punkt. dumb phone due to work, friends, and being ‘connected’ but if I was a braver person, I would buy a Punkt.

Francesco, what art are you into at the moment?
FR

I like art that comes from pop culture as it's pretty much my approach of working. Artists like Ed Ruscha and Richard Prince have a more advertising aesthetic that I really love.

This 70s rock album from this group called Triana. It's really meaningful to me because they're from Seville where my family is. They're known for being the first group to naturally mix flamenco and rock music.
The more I listen to it the more it resonates with me. It grows and flows back and forth every time I hear it. Even though the lyrics are in Spanish, I'm sure anyone can appreciate the psychedelic sounds of this masterpiece.

This letter by the late conceptual artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres to his dealer about his 1991 work always reminds me of the simple power and extraordinary possibilities of art.

Back in 2015, François Laffanour of Downtown Gallery introduced me to furniture from the Protestant community, The Shakers, established in the late 1700s. Shaker design embodies functional simplicity, craftsmanship, and understated elegance. In times where the noise of marketing often seems louder than that of design, this work seems incredibly modern and contemporary.

This show, and the wave of interest in dubstep that followed, changed me forever.
Almost 20 years later, I still regularly come back to it — but now the power of radio broadcasting interests me just as much as the music that was being played that night.

I devote my nights to assembling these cars and searching for vintage parts. Building them serves as a meditative activity, offering a break from screens and people, much like the tranquility of running.

This one was my favorite in how the phrase “looks for the fall” means both autumn and the end of times. Using words to send evocative messages in our visual culture is the ultimate for me as a semi-retired writer.
I was recently revisiting this window campaign I worked on with Richard Turley and Matthew Mazzucca for Barney’s right before it closed. We created this visual system where I would write these apocalyptic haiku directed at the shopper.

I've always preferred to think of brands as houses. So our schematic turned pavilion visual represents an architecture of people or an infrastructure of ideas. The idea is that it constantly evolves. For me that feels more human.
